Hello,
I have a book that has a name written on the cover. I want to google proof it by changing the title. I plan to sand what is left of the ink, but want to replace it with a faint title or marking. I like the idea of a blood soaked hand print and maybe a logo or marking. What and how should I do this? The hand print is a no brainer but how can I get a more print shop look for the logo/marking or title?use a stencil? What type of ink is best? I don't like using a prop that can and might be googled during a gig. Ray |

What material is the cover made of? you could do a stencil and paint it on to look like a silk-screened illustration.

There is a pen at craft stores like Michaels embossing pen or you could actually use gold leaf inlay or embossing.

I would make up the new title in Photoshop and print it onto normal paper.
Then attach your book cover to this paper so that the new text is aligned correctly (only underneath the real cover). Then place this back into the printer and let the two pieces (cover and carrier page) go through together. This should print the text in the correct place on the book cover. Or get some t shirt transfer sheets for your printer. print the new title on one of these then use an iron to transfer it onto the real book cover. Then age/rub away as necessary. Steve |

Practice first on a book you don't need anymore (and is much cheaper!)

Instead, why don't you age some old wallpaper and cover the book in it instead? make it tatty and stained...always used to cover books that were used a lot and were valuable in some way...doesn't have to be permanent, and you can have plenty of holes to show the oldness of the binding...
I've asked to be banned
