"Scryer's Band of Readers" arrived in my mailbox some weeks ago already, yet I never came around to reviewing it on here. Considering this, I may be a little late in the game, but hey...the book & it's contents have not left my mind since I first read it, so it must be worth a review. People reading the ad's or threads about the book might feel it's being hyped - it's not! "Scryer's Band of Readers" holds what everyone is promising about it: It's one of the most important & impressive books on readings. Seeing that more and more mentalists turn toward readings with semi-success, a book like this will be much appreciated and hopefully make many a reader very happy.

Due to the mass of contributors this book will have something for everyone. All the authors shed a very broad light on readings and show just so many ways of presenting readings, enhancing them, using them for different situations..brilliant.

It was very surprising to me that in fact all the authors - each and every one - have contributed top notch & quality thinking. Neal has indeed gathered a band of the best readers for this book.

Included are ideas for coachinglike or therapeutic applications, thinking on readings for entertainment & some magickal stuff, too. I was especially intrigued by the different thoughts on readings as business & how to make money making readings. No matter how brilliant your readings may be, without this background information you might have a hard time gaining money from it. And, let's face it, most of us will have to gain some money from it.

Some of my favourite contributions include the ones by ParaLabs, one of which details a very safe and comfortable way of practising your reading skills.

"The Light and the Darkness" by Ron Chavi gives a very nice spin to traditional tarot readings leaving you with a system made to create a connection between sitter and reader. It's not by chance that more and more readers become aware of the fact that it's not about the hits you get during a reading but rather about the connection you make. Ron Chavi shows you a way to do this.

Les Cross' "Guerilla Guide to Geromancy" is an introduction to a reading system that I have never seen like this before. Somehow I was very fascinated with it immediatly; this is something I use and will keep using for that matter. Very different and very nice.

"You have a Lucky Face" by Mota to me was one of the top articles from "Scryer's Band of Readers". For one, it details a rather different reading system - but more importantly, Mota tells you how to make it work in the streets & elsewhere. He even provides you with two simple ideas on where to perform this kind of readings and I think these ideas are brilliant. I can't say that I haven't tried this out yet but I will once I move to a larger town in a few months time.

Of course, the creators of the book Richard Webster & Neal Scryer are not to be left out. Richard Webster has brought to paper his thoughts on how to create a reading system. Study this carefully and you will be able to create reading systems on the fly or turn anything into a personal reading system so it can be fitted to you needs like a glove to a hand.

Neal Scryer starts the book with some of his ideas on readings and of course they are the quality that we are used to see from him. He does not write as much as in "Neal Scryer and Friends" but it's not hard to see that what he provides is some of his best material on readings.

Due to the fact that everything from light-hearted to darker readings as well as the business site & what happens behind the curtains during readings (i.e. mindset, techniques to enhance the reading, linguistics) is covered by specialist authors in this contributions, this is an incredible book. Thinking abou it makes me smile at how wonderful readings are & all we can do with it.

To me this is one of my most guarded books from my library and I will keep it dear. It is totally recommended to anyone doing readings or wanting to do readings. Well done Richard and Neil!
