Seriously, I've looked EVERYWHERE, and I do not have the body for tight pants and a leather t shirt.
Any ideas? I'm looking for threadbare jackets, shirts with wierd metal on them and stuff like that. Anything like that would be appreciated.

There is no easy answering that. Who are you? Dress in a way that fits with not only you, but who your character is. Some people do well wearing flashy metal outfits as you describe. I would get laughed at for looking like a fool coming out dressed like that. Your outfit should probably be just an extension of what you often wear. I wear a black leather vest on stage. It works for me. I usually wear a tie. Why? Because I wear ties most days, so I look right like me wearing a tie.

I usually wear something... I find I get paid more when I do.

I bet you didn't even mean to use the suit pun!
So you have a vested interest in this style?

You also need your clothing to be practical, for what you do. A fancy coat, for example, gets ripped up on a bed of nails. If you walk in glass or on swords, you need shoes that go off and on again with minimal effort. For some escapes, flexible clothing is far more important than starched shirts.

Also, a word of warning... Often times (almost all the time) cheap "dress clothes" LOOK as cheap as they are.

Where will you be working? What is your story? Who are your audience? How do you want them to perceive you? Why would your character choose those particular clothes?

Hmm... Well my ultimate goal is to be edgy, funny, and slightly strange magic/sideshow/illusionist/escapist.
Sort of a "You've never seen anything like this guy before" sort of feeling. The DREAM venue is being an opening act for other performances at small theaters or small casinos (they are building quite a few in my area). So something carnival-esq.

Then you need a costume that tells the audience all that in the first 30 seconds of you walking out on stage.
A regular jacket and trousers just says regular to me.

If you plan on using fire or heat of any source, for the love of all that is good do NOT wear synthetic fabrics! Cotton will smolder and gets put out very easily. Poly blends melt and stick to your skin. Just a tip to think about.
