I have a question about a rope routine. I am thinking of purchasing Richard Sander's dvd "fiber optics" extended. Could anyone comment on the strength and possible drawbacks of this routine? Are there any other dvds/routines you recommend?
Thanks! Tom Mason Vienna Austria |

Fiber Optics Extended is terrific. I'd also recommend Daryl's rope dvd set....

I strongly recommend you learn Daryl's Rope Routine. It is one of the most entertaining and magical effects in magic. It has all the elements of modern rope moves and the audiences and magicians love to watch it.
There are no drawbacks with the routine, as it is one of the most perfect routine ever created. |

You can't go wrong with either Sanders or Daryl

If you want to talk about the best rope magic DVD you ever saw for me it would have to be the one put out by Alan Sands about his father the great George Sands. After seeing George in action you understand where the great rope magicians of today got all their ideas.

My Granddaughter does a rope routine that uses many parts taken from "Fiber Optics"
Several times after performing, local magicians have asked where she got her wonderful magnetic ropes as they would like a set for themselves. This has happened so often that she now tosses the ropes into the audience at the end of the routine. Ed LizzyC's rope routine: http://youtu.be/emPYWsDUj2k |

Your granddaughter is quite a performer. I loved her professional presentation, she hit all her marks perfectly too.

I think the Fiber Optics is a good start but I also recommend Daryl's 3 DVDs on rope magic. Fiber Optics will show you bunch of moves and a couple of routines. Daryl's DVDs will show a lot of different things like rope and ring, it has a lot more variety and lot more information (it is 3 dvds after all). It sort of depends on what you want.
