Due to Hostess shutting down and the ceasing of Twinkie manufacturing, what would you recommend for a "Card in Cake" effect?

Hostess is currently reconsidering their rash proposal and are currently in negotiations to continue their business.

I saw Karl Hein do a lecture where he did a signed bill to wrapped Twinkie utilizing a tt. It was a pretty cool idea and I'm sure it would work with a card.

First off, that's an awesome dvd, though I always thought the card in cake was the least appealing work on that dvd, I baught it for the other stuff on it, that being said.... some idiot put out a dvd labled popcard or something it's a card in poptart and it makes card in cake look extremely sanitary. I saw a review on youtube by world magic shop or wizard products or whatever, you know, the people who make wizard pk rings, and they said it was absolutely horrible, just by looking at it I agree, they're trying to do it closeup, and it's a huge mess, and just no. plus apparently you load the card right there, and according to the review the instructions are horrible at best. but, for a stand up sort of stage performance the way card in cake was meant to be performed I believe, a poptart would make a decent option I suppose.
anyway, it doesn't matter much since hostess propbably won't be shut down, and if they did somebody would buy them out and carry on with the twinkies, no, what you need to worry about is Goshman shutting down, heard at the magic shop that there was talk of it, though it could have just been a rumor. |

You can use a brownie,a roll,a cupcake,or a doughnut instead.and here is a recpie for homemade twinkes:http://www.topsecretrecipes.com/Hostess-Twinkie-Recipe.html so you could bake a duplicate card inside and do it without a t*

I would be surprised if Goshman quits! Al (years ago)stopped in at Bill Brewe's magic shop in Cincy, enroute somewhere and Bill suggested he do a lecture at the club meeting that night. Al never turned down a buck, so he said "OK". At the meeting, he told the members that he didn't have his standard lecture props/notes, etc. with him, and if it was OK, he would do his close up act, and then answer any questions. All agreed: OK.
Al killed them with his routine (of course!). Then: questions! Several asked about moves, and timing, etc. Then a middle aged man asked: "How do I go about getting my son interested in magic? (It was fairly obvious, that he had visions of another Henning, Blackstone, Copperfield!) Al replied: "WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO?" --and the man mentioned Henning, etc. and the money being made. Al continued: "When I left home, last week, I signed the papers to purchase a big apartment building. (I think he said,"$300,000, but, anyway, it was a large sum,)I didn't make that money doing close up magic! I made it selling little red sponge balls!" --"Any more questions?"
