I acquired two Tenyo items recently but have only the original Japanese instructions.
If someone could scan and email me pdf copies of the English versions, I would greatly appreciate it. The two items are: 1. The Tenyo Paddle Set (instructions by Phil Goldstein). 2. The trick with a large clear plastic square tube where a red ball hovers in the middle of the tube. I can be emailed directly at moobooks@verizon.net. Thanks. |

Some things happened to come my way--quite a few hard-to-find items.
But no Melting Loop, Astro Coin, Breakaway Fan, or Magic Coaster, |

As far as I know the only person who has these items is Angelo Carbone. The second one indeed is Up And Down Ball, a trick that mystifies me, I have no idea what it does or how it works. Perhaps you can give a brief review of it once you know how it works?
Congratulations with finding these extremely hard to find tricks by the way |

Speaking of rare trick I have add one old Tenyo trick on blog I think that few people know from 1984 Year, Tape Mystery created by Tony Spina :
http://tenyo-magic.blogspot.fr/2012/12/t......ery.html I have to thanks all the people of the Magic Café and Genii Forum who helped me in my research to add this one. About Up&down ball I can't help you to find instructions but I think I understood that this trick was not really great in fact, maybe really bad, but I LOVE his general design. I do not ask much more, but as for T-63 Hiroshi Sawa's Walt Disney World Cube if one day you can take some pictures for the blog I'd be very happy. For Coin Coaster I have find one trick that look similar, maybe it's simply the Tenyo version of this one : http://www.mahou2.jp/SHOP/T-052.html |

This appears to be a Tenyo version of Tannen's "Room for Doubt" which was available for many years.

Tony Spina didn't create "Roon for Doubt," and the routine itself is not a new idea.
The voice actor on the tape is Bob Dorian. The drawings on the card were done by Ed Mishell. While it had only two possible outcomes because an audio cassette only had two sides, these days with mp3 files, it's easy to redo the routine so that you have nine possible outcomes and just play the appropriate mp3 file. it was a big deal when it first came out, and it spawned several imitations, including some with more "outs," which used various ways to get around the need to do more than just insert the cassette into the player with either side A or B upward. No one has English instructions for the Up or Down Ball or the Paddle Set? |

No sorry, but I keep my eyes open and if I find it I will tell you.
Maybe you can ask to Tenyo, I think they have all the instructions but maybe Up&Down Ball was never sold in English version. For the paddle set I think it'll be easier to find. I don't understand what you say about nine possible outcome. In fact there is only need of 2 possibilities (even and odd), and there is only one final case of arrival. You play the tape at the beginning of the routine when the specator have choose his staring point, not at the end. The instructions are given that the viewer finish on the right box. So why try to predict 9 possible outcomes with 9 MP3? Tony Spina is credited by Tenyo for this trick, do you know who is the real creator of Room For Doubt, I know it's Martin Gardner principle. Impossible to find photo of Room for Doubt in internet to see the differences For the Tenyo version some places are differents from the Spina version, there is no conservatory, Dungeon or Billiard room so I wonder if the designer is the same for the Drawings. I could not listen to the tape (i don't have the device), so actually I do not know if it's in Japanese or English but I guess it's in Japanese. I am not surprised that this magic've had a lot of success, it is really great, well made and the audience love it because it is really incomprehensible and magical. Very good trick, I love it too. |

As mentioned there has been a number of versions of this released over the years. John Fedko had a popular version called Monsieur Cassette ( clever name!) as well there was a version using plastic jungle animals called Mental Safari I believe.
The ultimate version for those with a little extra holiday cash is http://www.wellingtonent.com/products/guardian.html John |

So I had a friend in Japan translate the instructions for Up and Down Ball by Sugawara. It's actually quite good--a very interesting method for an odd effect.
I wonder why they made so few? The gimmick is easily made and the whole thing is sturdy, and it can't be expensive to make. Hmmmmmm ... |
