Im not sure where to post this, but it might go in the "promotional" area... I found a wearable hd helmet cam for pretty cheap, and Im wondering if I can use it in a cool way... It might be cool to wear it to get better audiance reaction shots for promos. But can anyone else think of a justifiable reason to have a wearable cam?

Saw the fire eating on your web site. Any kind of "danger" stuff looks cool if you can patch the camera into a live feed so the audience can see it from your perspective.
Also, it would be good to use doing walk around magic to get footage for your promo reel.

That would be awesome, but the projector and system to patch it in would make it more expensive... I'll have to try and convince my wife I NEED one...

This seems like one of those things that look better on paper than in practice.
The main problem being one of focus. The camera on the top of a helmet is not looking where your eyes do. You will get a LOT of very odd footage.

I probably would wear it on my chest for some of the footage...

It is like exactly what the person is lookin at if they were a couple of inches taller. Have you ever seen the footage from these of extreme sports? It's just like being there. I think it a pretty cool idea. With the fire eating and such even just for promos( not live streamed), I would think it would be be a definite advertising edge. |

We use GoPro cameras in our stunt show. We very specifically use head mounted harnesses to get POV(point of view) footage. The inrecible field of view (170 degrees), ensures you don;t miss anything.
