Anything from Steve Dusheck is good eats!
Glad to see my old friend still out there and producing great work. He's one of the best magic creators of our time and I have several of his effects, directly from him, and very proud to have them from such a magic genius. Wish we hadn't missed so many decades of his work but I do understand what he went through. Hopefully at this point he can be better appreciated and respected. His Diminishing Cards was a gem back then and no doubt even better today. Just wonderful and a very big SHOUTOUT to Steve at Shufton Magic for re-awakening this sleeping giant of an effect and offering it on his wonderful website - A real quality place on the net to buy magic.

One of my favorite reviewers of magic products, Wayne Kawamoto, reviewed Dusheck's Diminishing Cards.

Good review. I would take a slight exception on a point he didn't think was terribly important, re: fanning the cards. As there are only 12 cards which shrink and restore, I don't think anyone is going to notice that one doesn't pressure fan or the like. The cards do have to be held and spread in the same basic manner each time, but I believe that in the context of the effect that folks will not notice at all. Admittedly, Wayne said this was a very small issue. I would hate, though, for that to end up being the dividing line for anyone's decision to purchase this effect.

All initial feedback on this killer little trick has been positive, and I thank you all for that. Jeff McBride was even delighted and he is but one in the professional world touting this trick. After all, for only 20 bucks you wind up with some eye candy that will work in any venue, and is great for walk-around as it instantly resets. Take a look at what Regal said about this trick in Genii. Peter Duffie is also anxious to review it soon - he loves it. I'm receiving requests for two or three sets at a time - from the pros who know the value of having extra on hand. Besides, supplies are truly limited - it was a costly project, and I die-cut and prepared each set myself. All my best to you, and a thousand thanks from the two Steves for all your positive energy and seeing to it that quality magic like this is appreciated - especially by the audiences who enjoy it so much!

I hope you had a chance to read Peter Duffies review in Magic Magazine. I have never seen such high praise! WOW!

You mean that this got better praise than "Inexplicable" got?
Just the fact that Steve comes on here to post the first comment on this in almost 3 months is a reason for me to be wary. He NEEDS to sell more of these, probably because there are a ton of them in his stock room. I don't believe "High Praise" from "Name Magicians" anymore. As a matter of fact, high praise from people like that make me EXTREMELY WARY these days. Period. I know that I'm just a stupid moron, as opposed to Steve Shufton, who is a highly respected magician and NOT a moron, but at least this stupid moron has not been separated from his Diminishing Money on this one. Respectfully yours, Bats the Stupid Moron. :bat: |

Steve Dusheck's Diminishing Cards? You're really bashing this, Bats? I am surprised.
The Diminishing Cards is a classic and I haven't seen props made better than these. If you really don’t like the other effect you mentioned in your post, fine, but maybe you should post about that on its own thread. But the Diminishing Cards is excellent! Jim |

Well, I'm not really bashing "Diminishing Cards", Jim. I do not own it.
I am just tired of all of the BS that is going on. Every magic creator comes on here to push his stuff. That is one reason that The Café exists, for sure. I just feel an obligation now to be VERY WARY of ANYTHING that a seller says these days. And they are all in it together, whether it is a conscious decision or not. Shufton is using Duffie to increase his sales. I do not want his sales to increase. I will continue to be a pain in the butt to anyone that has screwed me, since they are going to continue to try and screw us all. I will NOT give Shufton a break. Ever. Every time Shufton comes on here to push a product, I will be here to remind people of "Inexplicable". Dislike me for it if you want to. Or appreciate me for it. Your choice. You are a very nice guy, Jim. I used to be. But I have been turned into a Jeckyl and Hyde monster by the very people that I am talking about. :bat: |

I know, its an old thread, but I have a question. Anyone know, if this comes complete with cards, or do I have to buy cards in different sizes (or have to do some "work" myself). Is this just working out of the box?

Took a chance and ordered this after seeing this thread. Not at all what I was thinking with how it would work. But, extremely practical! One of those situations of, "why didn't I think of this?" Just goes to show anything with Dusheck's name attached is gold.
