Based on an earlier post by Poof-Daddy: Is anyone familiar with a book or DVD focused on tricks useful to a bartender?

Doc Eason has a 3 DVD set on bar magic available from L&L. Sets are currently on sale but you will need to hurry.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant. Visualize Whirled Peas! |

I second the doc eason set.
in terms of single tricks, I would recommend a chop cup and prohibition. I think you can even get chop cups that look like the bartender shaker things. or get a mini/micro-chop cup that looks like a shot glass. |

You could also look at Scotty York's DVDs.

What makes the Doc Eason DVD's stand out is not the tricks ( they are gems ). The people at the bar were...real people. Seeing Doc handle someone that is trying to mess with him/be a wise guy, slowing down the show, getting ahead of him ( speculating what the ending is ) talking when he's performing, etc. is a Master Class.

Scott York has a ton of good advice about starting out.
In books, you might like on from the Little Egypt series, also some of Eugene Burger's work.

Bill Malone worked behind the bar for quite a while. JC Wagner is another name that comes to mind.

Incredible Magic Made Easy-At The Bar by Michael Maxwell is a 6 volume set that is a great bang for your buck.
Each DVD also features at least one master magician. Each comes with a prop. Loads of bar magic, bets and stunts. John
