I will be performing for a corporate event (masquerade theme dinner and dance event). As an opening act, I have used a golden mask with a disappearing cane attached to it. I intend to take the mask and put on the table and "transform" the multi-colored cane to a multi colored silk. Then I will proceed to do my normal routines. Thoughts?? Ideas??

Why would you do it? What is your character supposed to be? How do you enter the stage? What is your character thinking when you enter the stage? What is your character going to do once it is on stage?

Well, I am a comedy magician and will be entering the stage by the normal way ie walking up the stage after introduction. After the mask and cane to silk intro, I will launch into my comedy mentalism + card routine followed by other silk and comedy routines

Ok, thoughts.
I think Cirrus's question, "why would you do that?" (correct me if I'm wrong) was asking more about what that particular effect is intended to demonstrate. What's the motivation? How does it move the show along or tie into the masquerade theme (other than being a mask). How does it tie into your comedy mentalism? If you are a comedy magician, is the mask and cane routine part of that overlying attribute? Does it kick off the show in a particular way? |
