Hey all!
I thought I would share this picture of a caricature head that I did of Toronto-based Magician, Dick Joiner for a tour this past December. I made it as a joke for the 8 city tour (I came out for the curtain call at the end of my act with the puppet and Dick would either say "Now that's a good looking puppet!!" or "get that ugly puppet off my stage!"..)
I ended up giving the dummy Dick to the real Dick at the end of the tour.. without really getting a good picture Smile
This was the only real shot I got of Dick and Little Dick.. so a big thank you goes to Shawn Farquhar for taking and sending me the pic...

Thanks for the kind comments!
This was a fun creation to work on..
It certainly made me appreciate the work that goes into making a hard figure.. Most of my stuff is sculpted and cast in a flexible material..
I have really been impressed and inspired by seeing the progress shots of talented figure makers like 'manal' and other artists on this forum.. Thanks for all of the inspiration! Please do Keep it up!

What a great figure! Beautiful job!

That is a detailed hairpiece you sculpted. Did you mold that separately?

Hey Matt - the hair was actually not molded separately.
It ended up being a two piece mold that went up the sides
Of the head and followed some
Of the details and texture of the sculpted hair.. The only place
I had to repair the seam line was on the neck - so the hair texture actually saved me some mold line removal time Smile

You did a wonderfull job Damien.

I spent some time in the Navy as a moulder many years ago as well as a moulder in a civillian foundry and although I was working with metals and very different mould material I can appreciate the hard work and skill required to accomplish the great work you create.
