In the above sense, your right to vote has long been stripped from you.

In that scenario, the election would be won by whoever did the best gerrymandering. Or, as was tried in the last election, make it as difficult and inconvenient to vote as possible, particularly in districts whose demographics favor the opponent. I only questioned your statement because you seemed to make a distinction between the right to vote and the "right to elect." |

When I was a cop it was always interesting to me what exactly people thought their "rights" were and where they were set forth.
I do not say it is a good thing or bad but we have far fewer rights than most believe.

Nearly every day you see someone on a private forum claiming that deleting their posts violates that freedom. It doesn't. Freedom of speech simply prevents the GOVERNMENT from regulating speech, particularly speech that is critical of government. It has nothing to do with private organizations or privately owned media or websites. Another funny thing that many people seem to believe is that if you ask an undercover officer if he is a cop, he has to answer you truthfully or else it is entrapment. Another myth as many have discovered to their detriment. I'd be interested, Danny, to hear what other so-called "rights" people told you they had when you were a cop. Good thoughts, Bob |

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |
