Suppose you are walking along a sandy beach. The breeze is blowing in your face, the birds soaring boisterously overhead, the smell of salt fills the air. You walk past an old log that has washed ashore. You look down and happen to notice a small golden oil lamp protruding from the sand ever so slightly. Out of sheer curiosity, you bend down to pick it up, and as you do, your hand ever so gently rubs the side of it.
A monstrous roar fills the air, a cloud of smoke, wind bellowing. You take a drastic step backward as before you an apparition begins to form, a muscular floating torso, bound in chains, eyes ablaze with the wisdom of a thousand ages before. The figure glares menacingly at you. Your head twitching ever so slightly to the left as the thought to run briefly flirts through your mind. Against your better judgement, you decide to hold your ground if not only to see what mystery has unfolded by your doing. The omnipotent being bellows out in a loud booming voice that seems to echo inside your skull, your body shakes from the sheer force of the resonance. "Who dares disturb my slumber? I sense in you an ability akin to mine. You possess the powers of the mystic arts. Yet... you are mortal. As such, I shall grant you only one wish. This wish will come with a bane however. You may choose any magic you know of and I shall make it the most powerful spell it can be. Nobody, no being in the world shall perform this feat as well as you can. You will be one of a kind. A god among men." The thought of this overpowers you. Your mind reels with possibility. You begin to quickly mull over all the effects you know, trying to decide what you should choose. You begin to wonder if you could even choose an effect you know of, but do not yet know the secrets to. This deity was not so specific. But as you consider your options, you realize the creature said there was a bane... a downside to your choice. Meekly you ask him what it is he meant by this. His unwavering, unblinking gaze tears into you once more. You feel the fire of a thousand suns burning down into your soul. Panic begins to overtake wonder again as the moment turns to an eternity. "The spell you choose will be the most powerful it can or will ever be. None shall ever match your prowess with it. But you shall forget all other knowledge of the sorcerers ways. Nor will you be capable of relearning them. You shall be known the same as I... a powerful being with a singular powerful ability. You must choose, for since you freed me from my eternal prison, our paths are fated by the stars. I must return to my bonds, and you must make a choice in order to see that so." So fellow Café members, the questions I pose are..."What one trick, illusion or flourish would you chose, why, and what other tricks do you think you would miss most? My one choice would be "Un-gimmicked Oil and Water" I love the reactions I can get with it and the fact it can all be examined before and after (once I ditch the extra card of course). Sadly though, I usually lead into it with "The Devil's Elevator" during which they’ve already seen and held the cards, so I'd have to give that part up... dang. I think the effects I'd miss most would be "The Ambitious Card", or "Coins Across". |

I'd probably get in trouble if I wished for crooked dice tossing (then went to the craps tables in Vegas...)
I think Losander already met this guy, though, so it's a moot point.

The Floating Light Bulb. No matter how many times I saw it performed, it never failed to amaze me.

So, given the choice of being master of ANY illusion possible, you would choose a card trick?
Reminds me of the scene in "Oh, God" when the judge asks God (George Burns) to do a miracle to prove he is the Deity. God takes out a deck of cards, spreads them, and says, "Have you seen this one?" |

I really do not understand what this rambling question is all about, but I never go anywhere without Extreme Burn 2.0 is a trick that nobody ever forgets. When I do it for people they always ask me for my business card. People stop me in restaurants, and ask me if I'm the guy who can change $1 dollar bills into $100 dollar bills.
Thank you Richard Sanders for making Gregory Wilson's Hundy 500 even more unbelievable. Guys this is advise that you can take to the bank.

Agreed Al Angelo. That is an amazing trick. I use Heiny 500 right now, but have seen Extreme Burn and am certainly planning on picking it up. I do have Richard Sander's Ultra Gum and that is amazing as well. I love performing magic with objects people don't expect. The knows how to make magic really look real.

I paid my bill at the tire store last week with a one to hundred dollar bill swap. They are still talking about me at that tire store.
