Now THIS stuff is weird—H.P. Lovecraft inspired Christmas carols! No kidding, there is a CD you can order, as well as MP3 samples and two complete free songs ("The Carol of the Olde Ones" and "Great Old Ones are Coming to Town"). I got a great laugh out of some of this stuff, especially "Tentacles" to the tune of "Silver Bells"... Click here and have a listen.

I Don't Know How To Mutate
(tune: I don't know how to love Him - Jc Superstar) I don't know how to mu-utate, what to do, sad to relate, I haven't changed, not really changed And all I want, when I see myself is to look like someTHING else... From Wilbur Wately, Superstar 1968 Michigan State University Science Fiction & Fantasy Society (subgroup: Mulligan Mafia) One of the funnier ones - a take off on Jesus Christ - Superstar, based on H.P. Lovecraft's Dunwich Horror. There's LOTS more, too! Lee Darrow, C.Ht. http://www.leedarrow.com

Some years ago, the late comic Alan Sherman did a number of songs, carols included, from a Jewish slant:
For example, to the tune of O Tannenbaum: Max Tannenbaum, Max Tannenbaum, How's by you, Max Tannenbaum? And then there are my own versions. To the tune of It's Christmas in Killarney: The door is always open 'Cause the neighbors kicked it in. And Father John before he's gone, Will drink us out of gin. (Believe me, it gets worse!) cheers, Peter Marucci showtimecol@aol.com |

I did a chrismas trick for my muslin friend and they said that they also believe in jesus so it's interesting that you can do this kind of tricks to other religions.

My all-time fave is sung to "Walking in a Winter Wonderland." It's called "Walking 'Round in Women's Underwear."

Well, maybe I hang at too many Sci-Fi conventions, the filk or odd songs are sort of, well, there'd be waaay to many of them to go into.
Something about my version of the Christmas song.... Chipmunks roasting on the open fire, (ch: Yumm yumm yumm yumm Mmmmmm) Jack Frost sniping off your nose, Yule tide Carolers being flung to the pyre, and folks harpooned by Eskimos, (ch: Innuit's the word...) >sigh> I long for the tale told at midnight-the eye of aragon! Must now stop brain draining!

I listened to the demos last night and just had to order it. I think it would be fun to slip it into the CD player at the next Christmas part, just to see if anyone notices.

I think anything from Abba is pretty scary myself.
But seriously...anything involving spirits or ghosts of children...that puts a very scary aspect into the seance or whatever you are doing. Those are always the scariest parts of movies or books for me.

The song "I Found the Brains of Sanata Claus" is my favourite bizarre Christmas song. You can usually hear it being played this time of year by Dr. Demento.
It goes something like this: "I found the Brains of Sanata Claus underneath my bed. They were in a pickle jar, I wonder if he's dead? They smell like dried up tuna and look more grey than red. I found the brains of Sanata Clause, oh gee I think he's dead". PSIncerely Yours, Paul Alberstat |
