Vanishing Inc.’s website shows a price of $60.

Penguin also has it in the list of bestsellers, AND they give you for free an excellent magazine (besides free shipping).
Since Scott is not so well known, it would be very cool if Vanishing could produce a VIDEO interview with him, talking about his background, teachers, his philosophy in magic, his favorite creations, and even perhaps perform one or two effects in an informal situation. At least I would love to see that. I always enjoy much more the magic when I meet the PERSON behind the tricks.

I thought the 30 minute podcast interview they did was plenty informative.

I have had the download for years now and am happy to see the bigger book finally come out. Mine is currently making a cross country road trip in the back of a FedEx truck.

Mine arrived a few days ago but I have been too busy to check it out. Luckily, my wife went across town to her sister's for Thanksgiving and I stayed home since I am feeling a bit under the weather today and there will be many little ones there. I have not quite got thru 1/4 of the book (just a read thru but I did grab cards and try out the first effect in the book and love it). This book is very well written and easy to follow with a lot of very professional color photos. I would say that so far, there are a bunch of "Fun" effects to perform and has card and coin effects. The book itself is the same size and shape as "52 Memories" and "Blomberg Laboratories" (there may be more but I own these). Easy to hold open when working thru with a nice attached purple ribbon for a bookmark along with a purple felt-like cover. Would definitely recommend it.

I reviewed Pure Imagination on the Propdog live.
https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=p......ARCH_BOX I honestly think this book is a game changer - it is better and easier to learn from than a DVD. It shows what is possible to be done with print. Just think, 46 effects and 740 photos - it is like watching every important frame of a DVD. The book opens flat so your hands are free to follow along, a rewind is a turn of the page and there is a ribbon is you want to pause. Contents wise I had never heard of Scott Robinson so I had no idea what to expect. I spent a week read every page with cards or coins in hand, looking for the good, the bad and mistakes. It is all either brilliant or good and error free. I keep reminding myself of effects to revisit and learn properly. It is a fine mix of cards and coins, no off the wall gimmicks, yet you get some really visual and surprising powerful magic. Often for little effort. You have a choice of the few self working, semi automatic and a little more challenging. Perfect. It is £55 for 46 tricks - most better than the £35 gimmicked deck that is in your draw. |

Great review Steve, I appreciate the amount of time and effort you have put it to it. This book by Scott really deserves it.
I intended to demo HG Card to pocket on the Propdog Live but time was too short. I never believed a no-palm (virtually self working) card to pocket could prove more magical than my palm version. I am thrilled to report the book proving a very popular purchase. Best. |
