I didn't notice this before, but I bougt the eBook version.
Here's a guick review with a few snippets from the text that should not give anything away. I feel this would definitly be best for a small group/parlour show, however, performing this on stage is discussed, but I believe it would play much stronger for a small group. From the document itself: "This could be made part of an evening of bizarre magic, or performed on its own for small groups. Do not under estimate the ability of this routine to unnerve some people, because of this I know some of you will read it and never use it. Also I say read between the lines, the essence of this routine can be applied to other situations, routines with great results." ... "The Magus introduces himself, giving a little background and expressing what a pleasure it is to be sharing this extraordinary evening with everyone. He tells the tale of King Solomon and the Spirits of the Brazen Vessel letting people know that tonight they will be attempting to make contact with at least one of these spirits. Upon a table are a number of objects, a brass vessel, a bowl of water and what looks like a triangular picture frame covered in a black cloth." BTW - I don't have any connections with the product or author. I just thought a Goetic Seance was too cool to pass up. The booklet itself is 59 pages (lots of space on each page) and 20 pages are the sigils. The font is a little hard to read, but definitely adds to the "feel" of the manuscript. Even though there isn't a lot of text to the manuscript, there is plenty to describe the effect/routine. I think the handling is clearly explained and there is enough in there to be able to perform a cool/strong routine. The author discusses that this is not for everyone ... I agree, but I'm not the usual performer ;-) Just a side-note the eBook is not printable, so you might choose to get the hard copy. For me, a seance "junkie", I thought it was worth the money and I give it a thumbs-up. Dave |

Rob's material is really good. I have this and ars notorious, both of which contain excellent material.. The staff routine in ars notorious is pure gold. The lesser key is a complete collection of really good material all in a very Caleb Strange vein...he also wrote a very cool piece for Liber Mentis. The thing I really like is the authenticity that moves through from his formative background, which he shares with you in abundance. You can learn more here

Don't have this one, but just finished ars notorious and it is superb. One of my favourite releases I've read in the last year. Rob has a real passion for creating magic and wonder in people's lives and it comes across in his writing. While you may not perform his routines (and that isn't really the point of ars notorius)it certainly should inspire.
