Today is my favorite Jewish holiday it is a time for little children to wear costumes, a time for old men to consume large quantities of brandy, and tell stories. I have a Purim party this afternoon, and I am psyched.

In my neighborhood, the faithful celebrate by deliberately driving their cars onto the sidewalk (they are supposed to be showing how drunk with happiness they are) .

I try to keep a low profile this day in order to maximize my own happiness and health.

I guess everybody else is culturally deprived.

White bread & mashed potatoes.
Apple pie & vanilla ice cream.
Feel deprived, in cultural desert.

Between the east coast and the west coast there is a large population of people who think a baloney sandwich on raisin bread with mayo is a gourmet meal.

I performed for a Purim party last night. Room full of happy Jews chowing down on bagels and lox (I'm Jewish and fit right in). It was a marvelously joyful performance.
