I think this looks very magical.
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/2945 Imagine being in a coffe shop and they only had sugar packets but you preferred something else...so you change it into something else. A sleeve for a "to-go" coffee cup is taken off the cup and shown empty. You drop a packet of suger through the sleeve once, twice, on the third time, the packet magically and VISUALLY changes into something entirely different. |

Nice camera work to cover the "work"...reminds me of an old Sankey idea

I have purchased two of what I believe are four (currently) Coffee House Conjuring tricks by Greg. I agree with Zombie Magic that Sugar Substitute looks magical, and I agree with MagicBrent that the camera work is, perhaps, a little unfair to us potential buyers in that we wouldn't have that camera-person around to provide such, well "decisive", misdirection if we were doing Sugar Substitute. I think SS has reasonable potential with careful choreography. The trick of the CHC series that I like least well is the one involving the stain. Don't remember the name. My favorite is the broken and restored coffee stirrer. It is called Coffee Break. It is very clever and plays very well. My second favorite is called Sleeveless in Seattle and is a kind of Card Warp effect. Also very nice.

Why would I buy the download Sugar Substitute for $9.99 when for $20 more I can buy his DVD "Off the Cuff" and learn Sugar Shocker (basically the same thing) plus a whole lot more? Don't get me wrong, I think it is a great effect, (one of my favorite impromptu effects in a restaurant) but this is an old idea of his that has been slightly changed in presentation and is being sold as a single trick download. It seems like a much better value for the buck to buy the Off the Cuff dvd instead. Just my 2 cents.
