Just thought I'd share my experience...
The day the registration opened, I bought my tickets, purchased flights, and called the hotel to book a room. I mentioned the discount/group code on the convention's website and the hotel said they had never heard of that code. I thought it was curious, so I emailed Louis at info@kapitalkidvention.com I also noticed that the information on the Kapital Kidvention website wasn't updated, which concerned me as well. After getting no response, I posted here on the Café and still got no response from Louis. I emailed Louis and told him I didn't feel comfortable coming and that I would like my money back. After some discussion (and nearly three months before the convention!), he sent me an email that said "I will refund the money," and asked for the registration email addresses so he could refund them. Louis is refusing to refund my registrations and now isn't responding to emails. I highly recommend avoiding this convention, and boycotting the organizers. It's unfortunate they refuse to honor their word. I'll be filing complaints with several organizations and reviewing my experience with ChildTime Magic to try and warn people about Louis, his company, and his act. It appears he already has bad reviews on many websites, so sharing my experience will only add to the frustration people have already shared. Hope this helps people avoid making the same mistake I made. |
