Greetings one and all.
been "lurking" around the Café for ages and thought it was about time I joined this great on line resource. I am based in Margate, Kent, UK and belong to a dedicated little band of fellow magic nuts called the "Southern Sorcerers", we meet in a pub, have no rules, no leader, no fees....just a love of magic and beer!! I've been magicking for about 25 years now so hope to contribute some ideas from time to time!! cheers!! |

Greeting [s] Merlin!
I'll use my 'standard line' >>> You certainly speak good English for a foreigner!! (sorry about that--I just can't resist. Considering your appellation (egad) does that pub where ye all meet have ROUND TABLES? Do you have any members named Gawain, Lancelot, or Arthur? Are they working on PHILOSOPHER STONES, FOUNTAINS OF YOUTH, OR UNIVERSAL SOLVENTS? Let me know if they find a universal solvent--I would like to know what they are keeping 'it' in! I just do plain old fashioned magic--the simple kind. BTW The last time I was in Merry Old England, beer was still a shilling and a penny for a pint. (That was 1966)! So! welcome to this motley crew!

Welcome the merlin of margate,
I was apprenticed to Myrddin the Wizard (who worked in the Fox and Goose Pub @ 25 years) here in Sacramento California. While I love Guinness, beyond the first two sips it never did a thing for my Magic. LOL -Mary Mowder |

Thanks for your welcomes Dick & Mary. Regarding universal solvents I am pleased to report that our local pub serves an excellent one, but it costs more that a shilling a pint !!! Regarding the Guiness (I'm seeing a trend emerging here!), Mary I can assure you that if you drink enough, magic will surely follow, tables will seem to levitate, the room will spin and your teeth turn to rubber........so I have been told!
Cheers! Mitch |

Hee Hee! Good comeback Merlin!!!
Merlin>> I wish you could see Myrddin work. He appears in full 'regalia' and dazzles the crowd. Mary~ Heavens to ________ (insert appropriate term) One does not 'sip' Guinness! One QUAFFS Guinness! Methinks (!)we have another Terry Seabrooke here. You are doubly welcome Merlin! BTW:::Mary 'does good' with cards (and other stuff, too)

Thanks Tora for your welcome, incredible that you used to live in Ramsgate, it really is a small world!! I'm lloking forward to contributing in the months to come.
note to Mary....i'm afraid Dick is right, a Guiness must be downed (or quaffed even) at considerable speed otherwise you just might just get to taste it !! |

I love the taste of Guinness and I love to watch the bubbles, you can't do that once you've drunk it.
You can't drink your Guinness and have it too. -Mary Mowder |
