There's been a lot, and I mean a lot, of discussion on this board about agents. I would not recommend signing an exclusive agreement with an agency, but there's nothing wrong with having quality agents represent you on a non-exclusive basis.

By the way, here's a on-line agency website that looks interesting. I've e-mailed them for a follow up. I'd at least like to hear what they have to say: http://www.themagician.tv .

See ya!

I would reccomend marketing yourself and doing some shows in this fashion before trying the route of an agency. Agencies want to work with established performers and this will give you much needed experience.

My experiences with agents has been, for the most part, disapointing. What it really seems to boil down to with many agents is that, if you do magic, you are going to be at the bottom of their priorities for getting work.

Depending on what type of magic you perform, you might get represented better than the next guy. Agents are also highly interested in established and experienced performers who have a finished product, packaged up and ready to deliver to clients.

I have had excellent luck with a number of agents, but as I said before, most are disapointing, at best. Ask questions of them prior to submitting any materials, ask around with people you know in the business, and basically, just really do your research to find a good one.

Giochi,
You can get a book called the "Agent Book" from the Samuel French bookstore in LA. It's on Sunset Blvd. Inside this book you will find a list of Agents that want to work with magicians. Some agents will represent your magic for TV and Film only. Others will handle personal appearances/ trade shows. Hope that helps.
