Why hello there!
As you've probably surmised by now (and if you haven't, there may not be much hope for you), my name is Tim. I hail from the Twin Cities in Minnesota, and I've long had an interest in magic, but haven't ever really come around to actually doing anything with it. As of right now I'm primarily looking to start learning some close-up magic/sleight of hand, but I'm interested in all kinds of illusions. |

There's a useful thread in the New To Magic forum called "Recommended Books for Beginners." Many excellent recommendations on close-up magic & sleight-of-hand in there.

Twin Cities (in St. Paul), and Larry Kahlow's EAGLE MAGIC SHOP just south of Minneapolis (Bloomington, I think. EAGLE is now the oldest shop in the country. It goes back to Collins Pentz.
Well, Illinois/Iowa have QUAD CITIES, so I guess it's OK for Minnesota to have TWIN CITIES. Did you know that the Mayor of St. Paul has said that he read through the entire Bible, and he reports that he NEVER saw MINNEAPOLIS mentioned--not even once! In which of the twins are you a resident? (Your reply determines whether I report to Larry or Fred!) Dick Oslund Sneaky underhanded devious surreptitious itinerant mountebank
