I ask this question, having finally received one in the mail yesterday. I'm wondering how easy it is to actually break the dental dam and what it looks like when the rabbits explode out.
And for anyone that has one, did you receive anything other than bare sheets of dental dam along with the rabbits? |

I have never performed but yes mine only contained the dental dam and rabbits.... it was a new sealed package.

Mine just came with the rabbits and instructions. It was missing the dams which I knew about but didn't really care as I already had a few.
Never really tried it though as it just seemed to be be a little too tedious to set up. It sounds like it would look amazing when performed correctly though. |

I have never done sponge magic - but this effect sounds interesting. Shame it seems so difficult to get hold of.
Anyway - I'm curious. Do you put the bundle of rabbits in the spectators hand tightly secured in dental dam? Do you then pop the dental dam with a sharp point of some sort to make the rabbits explode out of the spectators hand? I am guessing any dental dam that is seen on the table is then overlooked due to the astonishment caused by all the rabbits popping out everywhere... |

The rabbits explode from your hands, not the spectator's. The dental dam is never seen.
Of course I'll have to try it out in order to describe it in the book, which means the tedious setup and the whole deal. |

I am sure somewhere I have seen this done. May have been on an old TV talk show. If I recall it looked much like a silk fountain type of effect with the rabbits continiously flowing from the hand. Searched YouTube but could not find any video... be sure to film yourself when doing it Richard! (The rabbits that is)

I don't get a rabbit explosion, but I got high interest in this trick.
I always wonder if I buy ten Mr Rabbit, would it be possible for me to do the Rabbit Explosion? Anyone got the same thought as me? It seems to me that according to what you guys mentioned above, I still need the dental dam ,right? Anthing special things else? I don't know if it is suitable for me to ask this question here. If not , just simply ignore it. I really interested in it and I do think it is the best climax for Mr Rabbit. And I just find this video by Fuji Akira ,is it that exact explosion? Or simply the effect look alike only? (start at around 2:40) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBBmuz4K2mE |

It looks like Eugene Burger's routine from one of his L&L videos...

The rabbits in Rabbit Explosion are small--like the size of a small sponge ball. Mr. Rabbit is BIG: he's the size of about 7 or 8 of the small rabbits.

Fuji is not performing "Rabbit Explosion" on that TV show.

Thanks, Newman. I thought that might be the case. But having done Lubor's dental dam penetration hundreds of times over the years, I was surprised at how rarely the dam would break no matter how much it was stretched.

So ... Rabbit Explosion is a bunch of very tiny sponge rabbits but with an extra gimmick? Or do the rabbits have springs in them? What makes this trick so special (apart they are very tiny rabbits sponges)? Are they just miniature sponge rabbits?
Ozzie, you are right about the Super Sponge Rabbit and Mr. Rabbit. |

Killer, it is those two items (rabbits and dental dam), you are paying for the rabbits and the idea and handling.

We all are believe me David... but when someone new pops in with absolutely no info in thier profile suspicions will be aroused given the cycles we have seen. If this is not the case then I sincerely welcome the new member here.

The small rabbits have to be prepared in a very particular way for "Rabbit Explosion." That information, plus Kato's excellent routine, are what you're paying for in addition to the props.
