I have my grandfather's mallet and tape measure from when he was a Mason in the 19 and teens. It don't get better than that Brother (for me anyway).

But I can't be a Mason. Even though I've got a second hand fez they won't let me be a member as they have a rule barring people like me from joining.

No sir, YOU won't allow yourself to be a Mason for YOUR belief system.

And that's fine. But please don't disparage we who DO have the belief system required for becoming a Mason.

Your call Brother. Your belief system.

And your Fez remark was in poor form, but I forgive you for your lack of knowledge.

But, leave us alone, please. Should you see the light, please join us. We sould welcome you with brotherly love and esteem.

One doesn't choose his belief system.

I believe your right. I had no choice in that.

But I don't think I want to abandon my belief and support of Socialism just to be a Mason.



Who was I disparaging? I just find it a bit antiquated that the Masons, and every other fraternal organization I've encountered has the No communist or Socialist requirement that is a hold over form the McCarthy\Red Scare era.



But I do have a second hand Fez. I bought it 40 years ago in a Salvation Army thrift store. It's a real nice one. From the Afifi Lodge. It covered in Rhinestones and bullion work and is one of my favorite hats in my collection. It sits on my moose antlers next to several other hats in my collection. I also have a nice unadorned one that I wear with one of my Steampunk outfits. I got this one from an on line Masonic supply company. so it's a lot nicer than the ones you typically find at costume shops or Fez-O-Rama.com.

I also have some other bits and pieces of Masonic ephemera that I picked up at a sale when one of our biggest temples here was closing down. During that time several vintage clothing stores and second hand shops were filled with all sorts of old Masonic Stuff. As several other temples too shuttered their doors and sold off their contents. A friend of mine picked up one of the big chair\thrones. It is where I always sit when I go over to his place.



I've seen the light. I chose the light that illuminates the reality that can be substantiated through observable data
