I ordered it last Friday, May 31 from Penguin and it's on the FedEx truck right now for delivery today... am looking forward to evaluating it and will post a review. Have also ordered Banacheck's Psychic Pad Folio and am about to rig up a homemade pad with the full-size sheet Psypher gimmick (I'm a big fan of Psypher in the small playing-card size; have a routine that's routinely left audiences dumbfounded and even disturbed). Maybe I can do a comparative review of all three methods.

The Folio Pad is closer in use to a billet box than a peek/impression device. The two gimmicks do completely different things. |

I received "Reveal" the other day and started playing around with it. Overall, the method is clever and as a utility item very useful. My only concern is if the certain "something" falls out prematurely while the spectator is holding it. Has anybody had any experience with this? I suppose I should probably take this question downstairs under Secret Sessions...Anyway, I doubt anybody will be disappointed with this purchase. Vanishing Inc. has a good track record going.

I don't own Reveal but I'm thinking about picking it up. I just read the review by Jheff on his Marketplace of the Mind site and it was very favorable. Incidentally, if you don't subscribe to Jheff's newsletter, you really should. For years now I've found his reviews to be accurate and balanced.
At any rate, it seems, from reading these comments on this thread that the people who bought the prop like it. The people who didn't buy it, don't like it. That's odd, isn't it? Doesn't make sense to me. I don't know Christopher Rawlings but do some people have a hate on for him? I would think that actually having the gimmick, maybe using it, at least in practice, would logically come before being so strongly critical of it. Note I said "strongly" critical. We can certainly all make guesses about a routine and state our opinions. And Ustaad, if I may say so, I liked your roputine as you described it. I'm sure it plays very well. But I wouldn't be so self-critical if I were you. The routine sounds very much in the style of Annemann or Corinda. I wouldn't try to reduce the impact of it by describing it as MODERN mentalism. Don't get me wrong - I'm in favor of whatever works - traditional or modern. But your routine doesn't sound particularly modern. So I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. |

I bought one of these a few weeks ago and love it! Very easy to use and low tech- nothing to go wrong. $45.00 is a great price for this!

Having put in the practice to make this piece my own and performed it several times I truly can't recommend it enough to all mentalist for a stand-up/palour/ stage presentation. If you are for more info check out the performance and further details at Vanishing Ink

I have to agree with Martin... this is not a good prop. Just watching the demo video I *immediately* knew the method. I don't think it would take a genius to recognize what's going on.

To be fair rj, I still am not a fan of this prop, but I really did enjoy reading the book it originally came from. It has some very interesting ideas and routines inside. Most of them stronger than this. in my opinion.
