Paul Green has a great tip for a coin purse that can be used for sets like 2 copper 1 silver where the coins have to be kept together yet separated into two groups. I can't give the info to you here because it's his idea, but you can see the purse and his handling of it on his "In the Trenches" DVD or in his lecture notes. I have been able to purchase the purse he uses on the internet at a very minimal cost. It's not really a "magic" item.

Dang, wallets and vests and all this fancy stuff... I feel kind of silly admitting I just put them in that little coin pocket they put in the right hand pocket of my jeans.
I rarely do Scotch & Soda because the reset is somewhat difficult, but I carry it with me "just in case."

I use the coin pockets in my sportcoat. If your jacket doesn't have them, a seamstress can put them in.
For Scotch and Soda, I use one of the imported leather purses for coin work. They're the small ones with the almost hidden, gold plated clasp. Some of the better magic dealers carry them. |

I bought a LowePro case designed for digital camera memory cards. It is about the size of a wallet, and has several see through compartments to separate the coins or groups of coins. The entire case zips shut and is nicely padded and constructed. I bought it at Best Buy for about $10.00. the model number is DMC-Z and a photo can be found at http://www.lowepro.com.

Brian,
Ya sat ya don't want ta wear a jacket? Ya say ya don' wanna wear a vest? Check thread on pocket orgaizers (?) I used to carry my Scotch & soda in my right back pocket. I found the back pockets tended to stay flatter as you moved and held the coins in place. I stopped carrying it because of the reset factor. I keep my [coins in my lft front pocket w/ my cash. Here again the cash helps hold things together. My regular un-[ coins are in the rt frnt w/ my TT and Color changing knives. I often where a jacket. This allows me to cary several decks of cards and a card wallet w/out to much bulging. (i Know, you said no jacket or vest, just trying to help out ). I will NOT tell you where I keep my wand or needle for needle thru balloon. Some things are better left unsaid .

I just carry the Scotch and Soda 'unset'. I picked up a great tip here on the Café. When I get ready to use the Scotch and Soda I use the b**g r**g in the palm of my hand and give the coin a little push with my thumb. No need to slam anything. Most of the time I can set it up right in front of everybody and nobody has ever noticed anything. The rare times sombody has noticed I just say it is a holder for the centavo.

Duplicate coin purses works for me.
I'm usually in short sleeves and pants with the basic four pockets. I keep my special coins in the one purse separated with pieces of card stock and the other contains my regular coins. |

Why don't you just carry them in a pocket, but put the shell underneath the other coin, that way it can't slip inside the shell. then when your ready to perform, just take one in each hand?

I have been carrying my gaffed coins in spring steel clips from the office supply store. With the handles in the "up" position, they look like a miniture purse. This allows me considerable comic possibilities by identifying the clip as the "world's smallest purse." I have developed several original moves for loading the coins into hand, watch, etc. while removing them from the clip. I generally place the clip on my shirt front by simply clipping it on, and then perform the effect. When done, it is natural to reclip the coins and replace them in the pocket, thus covering the gaffed nature of the coins.
