Frank, you are so right! One of the thing we would like to do, is collate the stories, the thinking, and techniques that Don Wayne and his crew developed and used over Don’s life.
To that end, Christopher Hart and I collected photos , notebooks and videos from Don’s house for a future project... but there is a LOT of stuff to go through!

I’d love to learn more and learn his unique POV and thinking. I’d pay top dollar for a tome like that. I’m actually thinking about starting another thread on this topic. I’m concerned that the work of D. Wayne, A. Cole, J. Gaughan, among many others, is not going to be properly preserved. Definitive and scholarly books are the way to do that, imho. |

I’m glad to hear of your interest in these older masters of our craft, especially Don Wayne , who I knew so well.
Don’s genius was not on an obvious or superficial level. But his ability to problem solve on so many areas was unparalleled in my experience. He once said that his greatest influence as a magic consultant was having worked with alan Wakeling. In that respect they were quite similar: Their ability to create seemed full of endless invention... it was inexplicable and difficult to put into words

Are there any plans of preserving Don’s ingenuity in a book or otherwise?
Like Jarrett, I believe he is an uncelebrated genius behind many modern effects and solutions. |
