Especially since both have Elsdon's name on it: Why release two products that seem to do the same thing at the same price but under different names? Are we at Microsoft? ;-) Here is what Hanson writes about isight pro on his website: "The brand new iLevel Pro gimmick will work with any smartphone. Also, its gimmick is much more invisible. You can even use it to balance other objects, such as power bank, AirPods and so on. We also provide a container to you to carry the gimmick anywhere. Most importantly, the new gimmick is not like the old one. It’s easily to repair and we give you everything you need, make sure you can use this gimmick for a long time." https://www.hanson-chien.com/products/ilevel @Marc, of you are reading this, can you please clarify? |

Mark may have signed off on Hanson's product but unfortunately he didn't own the rights to the effect. |

Hey Josh,
I read some reviews in the past about iBalance breaking inside of the specs phone and so the magician had to work it out with them. Do you think that still is a possibility with this new iBalance Plus? Thank you! |

So, the same idea was sold to two different companies?

Now I’m confused. Are iLevel Pro and iBalance Plus the same effect?

Yes iBalance was released, worked the phones at the time, but over time phones changed so that you would need a different gimmick, Hanson Chien liked the effect so asked Mark Elsdon if they could do the update, Mark apparently gave his blessing, so they released a new set of 3 gimmicks under the name iLevel Pro. Now P3 have updated iBalance with a new pair of gimmicks as iBalance Pro. Hanson Chien must be a bit frustrated right now.

Did Mark sell the rights to the effect before he gave his blessing to Hanson or after? iStillConfused.

Are the gimmicks the same? I’ve got iLevel Pro and I like it but this is all rather odd, isn’t it?

Someone was asking about storage. I know for coin gaffs I will use the tiny (not regular size) altoid box they sell. While I haven’t tried it yet, having received the Pro version, I may try storing it in listerine tabs plastic container. That’s those mints that are little paper thin wafer sheets. Shoutout to Adam Grace btw for I think it was called Death Breath, a great little trick using those tabs btw….

I bought mine from Paul Richards but it broke after first use. Paul only sells at conventions so there is no way to get a replacement.

The trick looks good, but it has the same weak point of many levitation illusions that do not use a suspension device but support from below - in the case of iBalance, the finger placed underneath with its gimmick. The smartphone is clearly on top, of course it would fall off without the preparation. Well, all magic takes place primarily in the spectator's head, and if he questions a trick, he deprives himself of a unique experience that laws of nature seem to be broken, which of course is actually impossible.

Sounds like a sheer nightmare, I personally will stay away from breaking other peoples phones, does not sound reliable enough.

Here’s what bothers me. Most people carry their phones in elaborate phone cases which hinders or totally restricts the application of the gimmick. Mark Elsdon’s original deck suspension is fantastic… it remains the superior version of this principle.

I have the Hanson Chien version. It’s a great idea but poorly made. Sadly the main part of the gimmick broke after 10 minutes which is not fixable. Would be better if it was made out of a stronger material (carbon fibre or metal).
