Can anyone point me in the right direction of a supplier that does dove purches for stage .I could make one but I would need some idea of what other magician have used .Any idea would be a great help .

Ken, this really depends on your act and what you want to do with the birds. If you just want to produce them and set them on a perch, a simple "T" configuration using PVC or metal pipe would be fine. You can also use a single post coat rack. If you've seen Lance Burton's act, you'll remember he used a street light.
A little more elaborate setup would be an open topped or side cage on top of a stand. You could train your birds to fly from your hand to the cage and enter. I've seen this done so I know it's possible. Whatever stand or perch you decide on should blend in with our act.

Thanks Dave I do like the idea of the cage I could also make a purch fitted to the cage .

It also has to do with our skills or that you know or can hire to make the stand. My suggestion is to buy some of the old dove books, there are some drawn stand ideas in them.
The most beautiful stand was by Tim Star, he had an number of rings connected and then gold plated. It was kind of like a huge shape of a diamond pip, if memory serves me correctly. The birds would sit in the rings. |
