Incidentally if you find it funny to take off your trousers but need motivation to do so in your show, you may like a routine from my ebook, Better Returns. The effect is called Einstein in My Pocket. If you search for that title here you'll find an early description from when I first performed it. Send $12 and you too can humiliate yourself for fun and profit.

Handsome Jack incorporated Harry Anderson's "Grappler" in a torn-and-restored routine on last week's episode of "Penn & Teller's Fool Us." (He wound up fooling them with a torn-and-restored flyer.) It was entertaining, but I have to admit I was a bit surprised that neither Handsome Jack nor P&T gave a tip of the hat to Harry.
The story behind Harry's development of the routine is told in "Harry Anderson: Wise Guy" by Mike Caveney. He fell in love with the device at Owen Magic Supreme and"During the drive home, Harry had to figure out how he was going to convince his expectant wife that buying a gambler's hold-out was a far better investment than frittering it away on a crib." (It's a fun book.)
It's still magic even if you know how it's done.

John bought that Grappler from Harry. It's THE Grappler, not a copy.
