As you will know, I have entertained children on both sides of the Atlantic.....first in London, and now in Phoenix, Arizona. I am often asked by other entertainers if there is a difference, and there is. In fact, there are many differences. If anyone is interested, I will be happy to answer you questions.

There is a difference. The ones in America talk funny.

From the posts of our British magi in these forums, it seems that--at least for the children's entertainers--the biggest difference is that in America, we tend to come in, do the show and get out, whereas across the pond, there is more of a "package deal" that includes party games, etc.
Can you tell us how what you did in London differ--if at all--with what you do in the US?

In London they would have a full birthday tea with sausage rolls, cucumber sandwiches etc. The only thing they did not have was tea!!! Over here they normally have just pizza or burgers/hot dogs in the middle so the break is a little shorter. In London, they would take the cake home to eat. They would also open the presents after the guests have left. 90 percent of my parties in America are two hours. |

Thanks, Jolly. So I take it you are still doing a "Brit-style" package then, games, etc?
