I bought this and have mixed feelings. The book tells you to pitch your act to one goup that I never thought of ever doing.
I have done shows for the main body of these organizations where this group would be located. I did special shows that benefited the main organization. It is kind of hard to talk about this without giving everything away. If you have been doing shows for awhile, then you probably did this type of gigs. This is just another way to get in the door of this type of organization then what would be the norm. I already have very good connections for getting gigs at these places and don't see me doing this as explained in the E-book. If you are starting out in magic and HAVE a show then you might like this. For me, I wished that I would have saved my money because of the connections that I already have with these organizations. I have already done this type of booking a gig, only I included the while organization instead of one group. Best Ray |

I do not know why as the market could be discussed without giving away his "idea" or "approach". There is plenty of this same info out there, the angle is well documented, and like Ray, knowing this market like I do, this would be considered a "backdoor" approach at best, which would have much more to it than I'm sure he discusses. This is one of those "it looks good on paper" type of plan, that is typically much more difficult to execute and achieve the desired results as offered. I think this would be hardest for magicians given their reputation and perception in this market. You get what you pay for usually, and this is only $12. |

There are NO "get rich quick" program for performers. Bottom line...if you want to do magic for a living...you will have to work...probably even harder than you would at a traditional 9-5 job.
My magic mentor once told me "Don't do magic for a living because you 'want to'...ONLY do magic for a living if you 'have to'. I didn't understand what that meant at first...But basically what he was saying was only do magic for living if you come to realization that you wouldn't be happier doing anything else. I have made my living doing magic for almost my entire life...it has been a challenging road...but it was my decision...and it seems to have been the right one! Now...having said all that...what do I think about this little e-book? I think the ad copy needs to indicate that ONLY performers in the United States should purchase this. Why? Well...I don't know if this would work in other countries or not...it may...but I simply don't know? So does this 'secret market' work in the U.S.? Well for me YES it does...and quite well actually. Will it work for you? Who knows...if you are lazy...then no...if you are an adept marketer with a good magic show (for teens...NOT a kiddie show!) then this could be another market for you. I have been doing these types of shows for years with a lot of success. Having said that...I would recommend this market for performers that have a little experience...as you will have to develop an action plan as to exactly how YOU will reach the decision makers for this group. They are VERY easy to reach...and a fairly easy 'sell'...just keep that in mind... Good Luck... Cody S. Fisher

I agree that this is a good market but most of the people who bought this more than likely already are working this market and have a good foothold in it. The method that is in this e-book has been explained before.....years ago. It already has been published in books and tape about hitting this market from going to the special groups that makes up this market.
The beef is that he is selling old news that most of us already know about. If he would have named the market, I for one wouldn't have bought the E-book because I have been doing this market for over 30 years. I have tested a lot of ways to do this market and here I paid for something that I already knew. Why not just mention the market in the ad and save people from spending thier money on something that they have already done or let them know that this won't work where they are located. A very simple fix. Best Ray |
