For those of you who do resturant work or kid shows----
I happend to be in an Eckerd Drug Store yesterday and I came across card decks based on the new Spiderman Movie and Lord of the Rings Movie. The Spidey Deck is really cool and on good card stock for fanning. They decks are made by U-S-P-C and come in poker size. The Spiderman deck has a great graphic of Spiderman and comes with red borders. But the coolest thing is that the faces all have different images for spiderman and or green goblin drawn in high end comic book style. Just off the top of my head ideas for presentation include an ambitious card routine talking about Spiderman's wall crawling ability and another mentalism trick taking advantage of this " spider sense". Anyway-- it's topical and since many of you will be doing things this weekend I thought I'd share. I have not opened the Lord of Rings deck because there was only one and I opted to put it into my card deck collection. Regards, Rolando |

Rolando:-
Check out the Harry Potter cards, they are similar to the Spiderman cards but come in bridge size and have a one-way back with cool illustrated faces. |

Does it have a Peter Parker back for a Parker-Spiderman transformation?
....or what's that guy who's meant to be the Goblin? Norman something.

Yes, Rolando, good find. Thanks for sharing it.
And there are a number of other U.S. P.C. "novelty" and or kids decks out that can make for some good comedy with adults, and lessons for children. Check the poker sized old maid, and other card games in kids toys section of walmart, and other toy stores. Also I use the Coca Cola Decks, for my "Real Thing" card reveal, and use the Looney Tunes deck as a 4 way fanning deck , and also for revealing that the card a spec took from an ordinary deck, was real "goofy choice", or a Micky Mouse choice" or whatever... as their card has "transformed" to a one form the looney tunes deck is found in the deck now, and has the same value as their card, but a picture of "whatever" on the face too. If the cards are the right size, and quality, then it is only a matter getting them into the effect to provide something offbeat and unexpecterd. I will be picking up the Harley Davidson decks soon to work on something with them. Possibilities, possibilities...every where I look there are possibilities.... BroDavid

another mentalism trick taking advantage of this " spider sense". Always good to be topical, but I think I'll skip the mental effect with the Spiderman deck What about the old cards sticking to the hand idea? Paul |

Or maybe a torn and restored card effect - saying the no matter what...Spider-man always comes back to win the fight!
Personally I would execute Wink-Wink with the Green Goblin and Spider-man but The Green Goblin will be the one that gets 'torn' - eventhough he's restored, I'll do the Many Worlds Climax for Hoodwink, which will make the Goblin card disintegrate and Spider-man will emerge victorious (as he wasn't torn in anyway - for those of you who are familiar with Wink-Wink will understand)...pretty cool...
