Hello everyone!
I'm Struan, an amateur magician from Scotland. I haven't been performing legerdemain long, but I really enjoy it and think it's a lovely way to give someone a little bit of wonder in their day. I've also found it a great way to make friends! I sho,d warn you in advance, most of my posts will be asking for help! I'm a student on a limited budget, so I'll be trying to make the most of the books and resources I have; as much as I'd love, for example, Lennart Green's Masterfiles set, or Daniel Madison's Mechanic, I can't really afford to buy new things every other week. Best wishes, Struan |

Welcome Strudle_Pie,
Sweet name, I feel a little too familiar using it. LOL Don't overlook your local Library or Magic Club as a resource. When I focus on a new effect it is usually my darling for a couple of months so at least it isn't every other week… that's good news, eh? Keep a journal of your progress and date it. It is great to look back and see how you're doing over time and see that not all paths pan out as expected but can lead you in unexpected directions. Have Fun! -Mary Mowder |

Hi Miss Mowder,
Thanks for your reply! I was given it by a swimming instructor when I was very young, and I've kinda grown to love it! A local magic club is an excellent idea, I'm not sure that I have enough experience yet to join, but I'll need to look into it! I also like the idea of a journal! It sounds like a good way of tracking one's progress through the art. Struan. |
