There are a few magicians in Northeastern Michigan...the closest Ring to us is over two hours away. We have hashed around the idea of a new Ring. How many people are needed to do so?

Mike, Ten I.B.M. Members in good standing are needed to form a Ring. The petition and details can be found at magician.org under Ring Resources. I'm not sure who the new Michigan TVP is, but Randy Vander Wal just stepped down. He should be able to direct you.

Thank you sir. So far, we have identified six magicians in the area.

Your TVP has a list of active IBM members in your area. There may be a few that you're unaware of. Definitely look him (or her) up. I'm in the process of getting the TVP list on the IBM portal updated - but it won't be done for awhile yet. Let me know if I can help in ANY way.

Thanks again. In the meantime, I think we may put together an informal unaffiliated group to get things rolling with the idea that we will affiliate with the IBM when we have enough members.

Mike, that sounds like a good idea. Creating a new Ring doesn't guarantee that people will show up. Having a strong group first and then applying for membership sounds like a good way to go.

Hi Mike,
I agree with you and Dave V. Create a great club first. After that, you can decide whether or not to become a bonafide Ring. If you have a great club, it doesn't matter how many members you have. If it is a great club, people will join. If not, you still have a great club with members you can work with. |
