I do quite a bit of readings, and I found Paul's insights to be extremely helpful/useful. I'm not going to say any more, Paul's been extremely generous with this, in my not-so-humble opinion. |

I decided to write down my recent experience after applying the information and advice in Paul's PDF.
Let me say right away that a) I know Paul and that b) I've been reading the tarot for a while but as an intuitive reader rather than sticking to traditional interpretations of the cards. That said, I'm here to tell you about my experience of implementing what I'd learnt from MGTT. You see, I decided that because I had a gig covering an extended period, I had a great opportunity that we often do not have; that is to tinker with what you do and to test whilst still maintaining the integrity of your performance. I'd been contracted to provide a ten minute stage slot in a variety performance and also walk-around hypnosis and mentalism. The walk-around had a definite purpose -to sift and sort for the coming hypnosis- but also gave leeway for entertaining folk by playing to your strengths. My 'weapons of choice' then were a Multi-bob pendulum, a set of ESP cards and a tarot deck. I found almost immediately that the tarot was by far, the easiest way to engage with the customers and a lovely little inroad to hypnotic testing. The information that Paul gives you- especially in the 'working with the tarot as an entertainer' section is just fantastic. His system for memorising the cards is easy and makes sense, in fact, it's kind of stuck and replaced my previous way of remembering the suits and meanings and his detailing of all the arcana will make you rethink what you already know about the cards and their associations. I made a decision to take his system into the crucible of the performing arena and nightly read for querents utilising the MGTT. I crammed Paul's major arcana descriptions then when I felt I had them good enough, I allowed them to percolate and mutate until they were mine. The very first reading I gave had surprising results. The sitter was a lady and initially asked whether she'd like a reading. She responded off-hand with a comment to the effect that she was fine to have a reading but didn't believe in the tarot. I replied that that was fine because the tarot believed in her. I did a single major arcana reading (as recommended by Paul) and about a minute in, she started to cry. Naturally, I stopped right there and checked if she was OK, we then jollied things up a little with some coincidence/ESP card malarkey. When we were all back to smiles, I made to finish up and she insisted on telling me why the cards had resonated so strongly. We chatted and she left resolved to have a fantastic evening. Another sitter, where I had a little more time in the early part of the evening a few days later drew the Tower and Devil cards. Whereas in the past, I may have fudged a response purely because I would be reeling from drawing those cards in an entertainment setting, I gamely went forth with a positive reading riffing off Paul's advice about the 'bad' cards and the sitter was astounded by how accurate the reading was. Prior to this, I have used ESP card readings and Scott Grossberg's Deck of Shadows, preferring to save tarot for dedicated readings however, Paul's guide allowed me to honeymoon once more with the arcana in an entertainment framework and to really enjoy giving simple yet incisive readings. I heartily recommend this to any of you who haven't already bought this. Wherever you sit on the magical continuum there is gold to be had here.
