Hey guys was wondering if anyone has the 260 standing pump from La Rocks. The one on there doesn't have a brand name it just says 260 pump and I can't find product reviews of it. I need a sturdy standing pump and have heard some bad things about Filbert pumps. I have a friend who got one and immediately had to duct tape the bottom back together. Wanted to spend no more than around $150.

Hey Robyn,
I don't know the La Rocks pump, BUT I can vouch for the Filbert pump. It is fantastic! I've had mine for about 2 years, and it has given me NO problems at all. There were some Filbert pumps, that had problems with the base cracking or falling off. However, the pump has a lifetime guarantee, and if your friend had approached the manufacturer, they would have shipped a new, tougher, reinforced base plate to your friend. Regards Baz ps the Filbert pump cost me $170.00 including shipping to Australia - it meets your price point. |

I second Mysto's recommendation for the Filbert pump....I have 2 of them and never had a problem from either. They are lightweight and you can configure them in many different color combinations.

I still have an original T Myers Pump-O and it works perfectly today (20 years later.)

Why not go with an electric pump? Just curious....

My Filbert is five years old and going strong - great pump and conversation piece with parents. Love it.

I've got one of the large TMyers PVC pumps (pump 0??), and it works great. Fills a 260 in one whoosh; can also be used for 350s and even 640s (with a *bit* more effort!!). I did have a problem of my own doing that forced me to break it, but parts were readily available for me to fix it on my own. It is heavy, though.

Hi
Just wanted to add that after years of using the traditional pump I decided that it was time to move over to a another kind of pump that would make my life easier (this was mostly born out of doing a 3 month gig and many thousand balloons later and getting the gig again!) I did some research and asked my balloon friends on their thoughts on stand up and battery pumps. Without doubt the Filbert came back as the best option - so I now have my Filbert and have already used it for a number gigs - so far all outdoor in all kinds of weather - and it is great! I love it! Even though its so light - its sturdy and feels good. I'm just very careful to keep the nib at the top protected but apart from that - it doesn't seem to mind getting thrown about! I still carry a hand pump with me but its a joy again to do big fancy hats or models that require lots of balloons - like the old favourite octopus or spider! Whats important to me as well is that it is so light - I travel a lot internationally so this was an important fact for me. Lady Vee |

Thank you guys, I'm getting a filbert for Christmas. I don't like the noise of an electric pump and I don't want to have to worry about charging it.
