Good idea! The item is useless for its original purpose (hence the low price these days, I guess), so this is a really nice way to recycle it. I'll be buying one to recycle it ASAP.

It occurred to me that this gimmick can be used for a DIY card 'splosion device. Built into a hat or etc, it would work fine.

Drill a small hole thru the side, straight thru everything. String a strong thread thru and load the thing with cards...yank the thread and the cards fly.

Lock it all down and use the arm of a mousetrap for the yanking and you've got flying cards on demand. Rig it to load on the simple side and the cards would fly straight up...rig the complex side and they would fly in a wide fan left, right and up.

Easy rigging for a stab-a-card prop since you can mod the device by stapling, riveting, etc.
