Dear Café diners in the UK,
I am looking to buy a gimmick that has a smaller coin melted/embedded into a larger coin. Something like a 1p inside a £1, or a 5p in a £2. The gimmick will be used at the end of a routine where the spectator holds the 2 coins, then I switch with the gimmick as they press their hands together. I have seen this trick done somewhere online, but don't know where anymore, and I cannot find any trace of it now. Any coin makers out there can help me??? |

If you contact any English magic shop, they will sell you this trick. Happy fishing.

Dr. Michael Rubinstein sells his routine of exactly what you describe. It's called "Fusion Coin" and comes in US half dollar and quarter versions.
There was another creator selling a similar effect but I can't remember who. I do remember that Dr. Rubinstein had some rather heated discussions about that one here on the Café a couple years ago. Café search engine should turn up some info on that. Jim Edit: Here's a link to his website. Scroll down a bit and you'll see both sizes, half and quarter dollar: http://www.newyorkcoinmagic.net/Rubinstein.htm |

I believe Jay Sankey sold something like this with Canadian coins as well. Not sure if it's still available. Check with Jay. . .

He apparently came up with his version independently and had made a production run before learning Rubenstein had already released his effect. They reached an agreement where Sankey could sell off what he'd already produced, but nothing more. |

All the above is correct. Fusion can be found on the website http://www.newyorkcoinmagic.net , or at various magic dealers.
