Anyone remember the micro bicycle playing cards giving away in CrackerJack's?
Wonder how they compare in size to the OP's? |

My version of Carey's trick "Spectral" is in my RSG notes (at MagicJohnG.com).

I don’t believe anyone in this thread has really either taken on board or understood exactly what these Christmas Cracker 'cards’ are actually like.
I think a better description might help…. Think of really cheap airmail writing paper, so translucent that the faces can be seen through the backs, cut into small imperfectly formed rectangles with horribly burred edges and with an overall size a third smaller than your laptop keyboard keys and then you’ll have some idea. The only really sure fire way of even counting these cards is by wetting your finger and thumb tips and rubbing each one to make sure the rough edges aren’t holding several ‘cards' (bits of paper) together. Given the working materials, to my mind none of the suggested tricks so far proffered are practical. I reckon the best idea would be to do an effect that treats the cards as what they are... small slips of paper... rather than as cards. So... something like the Piano Trick (without placing them between anyone fingers though as they’re too small)… or the trick that Giovanni has recently popularised (his presentation is called Pennies I believe) where a triangle of ‘counters’ are laid out and the same number appears to lie in each side of the triangle even when extra ‘counters' are added. Maybe this more expansive description of the ‘cards’ will bring forward further suggestions that are more practical. Happy Christmas crackering

Ah, now I understand... So the extravagant routine involving five perfect faros, a diagonal palm shift and a mirror spread holdout might need to be modified. Curses.

What would you do? Chill out and eat some turkey? You don't have to think about magic or be "on" 24/7 you know ... |

To be fair the quality does vary. I have had decks in crackers that are perfectly usable ie a bit smaller than patience, but no sort of "finish". I agree though .... Declining funny challenges is a key social skill! |
