Hi
I am not magician but I would love to learn this trick, its a classic and after I have seen street hustlers scamming people by this trick I wanted to learn it myself. Is Bob's 3 Shell Boot Camp good place to start or is there something more suitable for people like myself? Perhaps An Introduction to the Shell Game Vol 1. Can it really be learned in 3 weeks as Bob suggests Thanks |

I don't post on here very often, but I'm familiar with your request. In a nutshell, the answer is "yes'. You can learn it from scratch in 3 weeks. Keep the table and equipment set up, and do your two lots of 15 minute sessions every day, YOu'll find yourself drawn to work on it it more. (in my case - way more). Drilling is taught in a simple, easy to follow manner.
The Shell Game 1, if that's the School for Scoundrels one, is also good - they also supply the equipment (at extra cost, naturally) . The way Bob & Glenn's DVD is organized, I think it's more intuitive. Bob & Glenn's, I mean. My opinion, having purchased the SfS DVD first. One thing I had a problem with was a mis-hearing/misunderstanding on the Bob dvd was the use of the word"acquitment". I thought he was saying "equipment" ( I don't SPEAK the American version of English - that's where my problem lay), so I couldn't really understand some of the comments. I do now, of course. Of all the shells I have, my fav for performing this is the caps. The caps are supplied with the DVD I think, along with a few peas - check though. Bob/Glenn's DVD covers a lot more - best surface to work on, how to make for own surface (I think) best peas to use, how to treat your shells for a better grip ( excellent advice there…) So, I'd say this - I think you'd have a better chance of seeing your practice sessions through, therefore a better chance of succeeding in three weeks with the Bobs 3 Shell Boot Camp. If you'd like any more advice, contact me via the Magic Café - the email address I have on here is out of date. DCB

Didi,
The Boot Camp DVD will teach you a practice "routine" designed for entertainers, not street criminals (yes, they are criminals) If you want to learn the "street" methods, you're better off with the SfS offering.
No trees were killed in the making of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
