Hi all
I just opened a couple of old illusions that I have not looked at in years to find the ata (road cases) cases foam lining has totally disintegrated into pieces and I need to re line them with new foam what sort of foam does one use and where would you find it and what adhesive ? |

You can attach foam with contact cement. Apply to the foam and the wall. Then press together when it gets tacky.

I lost an Owen Volunteer Sawing to bad foam a few years back. The problem is that some of the old, green foam would dissolve in water if there was enough heat near it. In this case, (no pun intended) the water came up through the edges of the case during a rising water situation, and the foam converted into uric acid and some other chemicals. Result--rust and ruined finish.
Since the illusion and cases were used, there was no warranty. The new grey foam isn't quite as bad. Closed cell foam is probably the best.
