RIP Russell. Who does that leave Mary Ann and Ginger?

Dawn Wells and Tina Louise are the only castaways left.
R.I.P. Russell, and thanks for the entertainment you've given me over the years.

I thought this was a belated thread to Dai Vernon!
I agree, though, Russel Johnson was wonderful in that role. I've seen him in other roles where he played a bad guy and it's so incongruous. He will always be Roy Hinkley - The Professor. RIP |

Did they ever say his name on the show?
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

In the first episode, along with the Skipper's - Jonas Grumby. They only said Gilligan as the first mate. Sherwood Schwartz said his name was Willy Gilligan, but it was never mentioned on the show. The others were Ginger Grant - the movie star, Maryanne Sommers - the farm girl, and Thurston and Lovey Howell III - the millionaire and his wife.
The pilot had some different people in some of the roles. Clearly, I have no life. |

On one episode of the show, a visitor came to the island. The skipper introduced "the professor." The professor shook hands with the visitor and said his full name. It happened only once.

Here's the first couple of minutes of the first episode with the names. Man, the canned laughter is terrible.
