Is there anyways that you can shuffle the deck and keep the face up card second to the top ?

Ose's shuffled false cut. Look into John Carey's work, he uses it a lot and it's very deceptive. That's letting the spectator shuffle.

Of course you could also use an overhand shuffle. Personally, I would just riffle shuffle while talking and maybe Ose false cut.
