Unfortunately, I think this will help his business. He did a good job with the balloon drop and making a customized balloon for each person.

I've never met him. I don't like anything about his business model, how he positions balloons as a distractions (A mosquito is a distraction. Balloons should be entertainment.), and I've never heard anything flattering, or even neutral, about him as a person. But I think this will help, not hurt, him.

I'm of mixed feelings about that.

Institutional investors will stay away from him like the plague.
I kind of wished he would have gotten a deal. This way he would have failed, and that would finally be the end of him.
It seems like he didn't prepare and couldn't answer the questions he should have expected.
He's been trying to get national restaurant chains under contract for years with no success. He really wanted the sharks for.
Even if had gotten a deal, it would have fell through after they did their due diligence on him.
He's just a predator, preying on college students and their need for money.
If you need fear to enforce your beliefs, then your beliefs are worthless.

Ben went on the show probably knowing that he would be ripped apart by the Sharks. I doubt that was his goal. He just got his company name/brand organization seen my millions of viewers.

This week alone, I have been asked by approximately 10 people if I was part of Balloon Distractions? When I said, NO! they told me they saw the guy on Shark Tank pitch the sharks.

...sigh...

Clever appearance but the critiques were spot on. The business model itself was very vague for capitalization.

Like him or hate him, he presented his business concept for millions of potential customers, clients, and investors nationwide and into perpetuity with syndication and reruns. If he takes this and runs with it, not a bad investment for 2% of his equity.

I don't care for his methods, but I do respect his entrepreneurial drive and energy. I firmly believe, however, that talent, class, and style will continue to override his business model.

Our local paper, the Tampa Bay Times, did an article on Balloon Distractions and the controversy surrounding it:
