We're opening tonight! We had a good dress rehearsal last night. I don't know what the audience is going to be like on this miserable night, but I'm giving myself plenty of time to get to the theater, so I'm leaving in a few minutes. I'll report back tomorrow, thanks for everyone's support.

Wish I could be there!

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

And opening night was...
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats |

The funny thing is, sort of. I stepped on glass 2 days ago, and this morning I needed to go to the doctor to get it lanced out.
Anyway, thanks for asking. The show went great, we had a small but enthusiastic audience, which was nice because it was a fairly stress-free way to face an audience. I haven't been in a professional acting situation (albeit this is just Off-Off-Broadway) in about two decades, so I was a little nervous about it. Tonight and the rest of the weekend we have full houses. Lots of weepy audience members. For never was a story of more woe Than this of Juliet and her Romeo.

Glad to hear it.
BTW,did Juliet correct the obvious typo and say "Farting is such sweet sorrow"?

Had our final show this afternoon. We had full houses Friday, Saturday matinee, and Saturday evening, and then ended with a somewhat smaller house this afternoon. It was really a wonderful experience.
Let's see, what did I learn that could be applied to conjuring? I would say this: 1) having professional, focused positive people around you makes it a much less neurotic experience. 2) as an older person who no longer feels like I *have* to act or I'll die, I could focus on what my character's needs are. 3) use exactly what is happening around you at the time you are performing--that is the foundation of verisimilitude. 4) it takes much less than you might think to achieve verisimilitude--but that little must be done very specifically. 5) do your homework, then trust in the moment. 6) don't play your character, do your character's actions. Did I achieve all this? Nope. But I was with a bunch of actors who did much of the time.
