What a fantastic concept. Now, with the exlosion of internet info out there, you can continue to give advice, long after you're dead, that may well be what you will have had wanted to say. Still bossy after all these years.

Imagine gleaning all the written writings of the last 4 presidents, or top thinkers, what they studiued, what they thought, their moral compass, their intelligence (or lack of)...and having their Avatar be able to talk to you, answer complex questions, etc. Eventually, a larger database could include the world problems, government machinations, etc. that tied into their lives, tied into the person's persona...

The more the new generation mounts their thoughts and actions on the internet, and the more their total life histories are public or searchable, the better this thing will be. People will jump on this idea. Get Granny on the mike!

I say it's going to be a reality and a viable way to be ersatzidly Immortal. Just consider that from now on you'll be pontificating for the benefit of the future of all mankind.

...until the Internet blows a tire and we all end up banging rocks together...again. Anyway, this is huge. Thanks for posting it.

I also noticed on that web page the little thumb ring you wear to control your iDevices. Kewl!

The concept sounds cool, but what is the point to construct a dead person in the computer? it's like reconstructing a living mammoth. It's definitely exciting to reborn the extinct, but also disobeying the law of nature.

I have had the suspicion that some of the conversations on this forum have been conversations with the dead. Even worse, what if the dead have begun having conversations back and forth with each other? It could explain a lot! It could explain "The spooky, the mysterious...the bizarre!" for example.

Isn't "dead person" a non-sequitor? If you be dead you ain't a person. Not sure what you are. but ...

Sounds like something Michael Crichton should write. Oh, wait... never mind.

The British satire drama Black Mirror had an episode that dealt with this. It was quite confronting. One of the key things it explored was whether the AI entity was an accurate representation of the dead person, given that most people present a skewed perspective of themselves when engaging on social media.

I think the initial attraction would be to the sort of people who visit cemetaries and miss the dead.

The laws of nature wouldn't have anything to do with it, as no one would have been reborn. Just the 'supposition' of their personality.

Imagine wandering thru a cemetary and asking the dead questions...and listening to their answers. Sounds like a hoot to me.
