Oh, I forgot. Clinton's not bad because he cheated, he's bad because of his political affiliation.
But Anita Hill, now SHE'S credible.

Lots more than Thomas. They found his porno video rental receipts, remember?
Just thought this would be more fun to rehash than the other convo.

The question isn't whether she's lots more credible than Thomas, but whether she's lots more credible than Paula Jones.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

So the rental of porn video makes one not credible? Got it.

I wouldn't rate him as a role model at all. The only thing he should be rated on is as a president. The undertone of this thread, though, has been about bigotry and tolerance, so I fail to see the relevance of bringing Clinton into it.

But you see the relevance of bringing a fictional TV character in to it. I see hmmmmmmm. Now I get it. If it fits your agenda it should be brought in. But if it does not fit your agenda it is not relevant. Gotcha you...I understand now. In fact I think everyone understands now. Smile

Sorry, but it's difficult to respond to your increasingly baffling posts- but what, pray tell, is my agenda?

Obviously to discredit a fictional TV character from the 70s.

Can't fool you, Danny! Smile

But I think that when someone manages to combine everything he dislikes about Muslims, Clinton, atheism, abortion and those who dare to disagree with his narrow world view into one long rant, the comparison to Archie Bunker is apt.

I happen to think All in the Family was hilarious. Yes a parody but pretty much of all views. Archie wasn't the only parody. Mike was satirized as well.

The show was brilliant and Carol O'Connor was one of the best at milking laughs with a look. One of the longest laughs in TV history was his kiss from Sammy Davis Jr. He just lets it go on and on. The man was masterful by any standard you care to apply.

The writing was brilliant. The supporting cast was fantastic. So much about it was a perfect storm.

THAT would be more fun to talk about. It is one of the first exposures I had to the comedic value of a "slow burn". Which I use regularly.

Ok go back to pointless blather.

Of course. Whatever you say. As mere mortals we only have opinions. You on the other hand, have all encompassing knowledge. Smile A true legend in your own mind. Smile I can only say that if there were a center of the universe, Bob would believe he was it. My narrow world view is I surmise somewhat like your self centeredness. Smile

I really have to question part of your remark above. Is there something you like about abortion? I dislike it especially when done for convenience.

It was a while ago, but if you remember that was one of the key points in the case. Hill claimed that Thomas would often discuss the contents of porno movies with her in graphic terms, much to her disgust; he denied it. The receipts while not conclusive, certainly were suggestive and gave weight to Hill's testimony.

In 2010, a former girlfriend of Thomas's, Lilian McEwen, spoke publicly saying "Thomas had been “obsessed with porn” and “would talk about what he had seen in magazines and films, if there was something worth noting.” She also said that Thomas would tell her about the women he worked with — even commenting to her about one’s bra size. “He was always actively watching the women he worked with to see if they could be potential partners,” McEwen told the Post. “It was a hobby of his.”

As to Paula Jones, I think she and Hill both told the truth.

Project much? Pretty odd comment coming from someone who has repeatedly stated that he doesn't need to read or research anything, mocks those who do, and has stated that he knows all from his own experience.

But, then again, it seems like you don't even bother to read the things you have written yourself.

Oh, and you forgot to tell me what my agenda is. I'm dying to hear this one.

Well I do not want to be the one to cause your death. I really don't want that to happen. I enjoy you to much.

Just to clarify. I never said I know it all. I said I do not like to google and express someone else's opinions. I much rather express my opinion because of what I know and what I have experienced. I believe you twisted what I said a little, actually a lot. Smile What you really did was make up something I did not even come close to saying.

Aces, there is no need for anyone to twist your words. For the most part, they are pretty twisted as written.
