I have the Flowers From Empty Bag by Di Fatta and what I did at the suggestion of my local brick and mortar is purchase two tricks so that my single bag produces 6 flower boxes instead of three
I then place my small paper sack into a large stripped colorful gift bag and bring it out on stage so that I know which way the gimmick is facing and place it on my small prop table. I then say to the audience... "Well it seems to me that everywhere you go, people are trying to sell you something and tonight is no exception, may I introduce to you, 'the gift bag 200'" (gesture to the colored bag and then realize my mistake - apologize - walk over and remove the brown paper sack and place the large gift bag on the floor.) "The gift bag 2000! I came up with this idea from all of the birthday parties and social engagements that I get invited to (as a celebrity) because it occured to me that the art of wrapping a gift has been lost. Nowadays if you want to give someone a gift, you simply buy a gift, buy a bag and shove the gift in the bag - well, I surmized that if you can put a gift into a bag, then you should be able to pull a gift out of one. So I invented this for every man in this room. And I know what you're thinking, 'Hey, that looks like an empty brown paper bag.' A-ha! That is the beauty of this invention. You simply buy this, put it in your closet and forget about it until the very first holiday... And what is the first holiday of the year? Valentine's Day! Gentlemen valentine's day was February 14 and if your wife just elbowed you in the ribcage you forgot it. Well, never again. That morning, simply walk over to your closet, reach into the gift bag 2000 and pull out... a box of flowers. What is the second holiday of the year? Your wife's birthday. Here's how you know if you've forgotten your wife's birthday. That morning you roll over and find her staring at your with eyes wide open and a big smile on her face and she says, 'guess what today is?' Yeup you guessed it - it's your wife's birthday. You'll never forget again.. simply walk over to your closet, reach into the gift bag 2000 and pull out... a box of flowers. What is the third holiday of the year? That's right. Arbor day. (wait for laughter) What you don't get your wife a gift on arbor day? Well, you're two for two so you do now. That morning, simply walk over to your closet, reach into the gift bag 2000 and pull out... a box of flowers. What is the fourth holiday of the year? Yeap. Your anniversary. I know you thought you had a sure fire way to remember your anniversary, you said to yourself, "Anniversary starts with 'A' and the month we got married in also starts with 'A,' but you forgot that both April and August start with 'A' and now you can't remember what month you got married. You'll never forget again.. simply walk over to your closet, reach into the gift bag 2000 and pull out... a box of flowers. Gentlemen, what is the LAST holiday of the year? Christmas! Well, you've already set a good precedent and remembered all of the holidays so far, but don't you think she'll be expecting a single box of flowers? You got to get her something more than that. Don't worry, the gift bag 2000 has got you covered. That morning if you want to put something under the tree... simply walk over to your closet, reach into the gift bag 2000 and pull out... not just one box of flowers, but TWO - TWO boxes of flowers. And there you have it! A year's worth of presents for your wife (fold up bag) in the bag! (begin putting props into LARGE gift bag that is on the floor) And if anyone would like one of these, I'l be selling them in the parking lot after the show. |
