There is another gimmick to do a lit cigarette vanish.
In fact there are several. This cig up nose is designed to do just that. Go up the nose. as for the borrowing of a cigarette some versions allow it some don.t although depending on your skill level you could borrow a cig for all the versions. |

Cigarette up Nose uses a rather standard gimmick for vanishing a cigarette, but modified slightly so it will look like the cigarette is actually going up your nose. If you want to just vanish a cigarette, you wouldn't need this modification so you could just use the standard gimmick (not a thumbtip), which probably costs about 5 dollars and you could use a borrowed cig with it.

If you want push a cig. up your nose, this is the best you'll find. If you want to just vanish a cig. this isn't what you want. David Stone has a dvd "Quit Smoking" that you might like with all kinds of vanishes and visual flurrys with a borrowed cig and lighter.

Che,
If you are against cigarettes that much, don't do any cigarette magic. It will convey to the audience and this may not help your reputation. The TT cig vanish is a real reputation making trick. Whenever I show it using the hanky, they talk about it and tell their friends. That is good publicity. They remember it years later. If you are around a group of smokers, do cigarette thru quarter, then vanish the cig. They will go wild. Bill |

"Cigarette Up the Nose" by Gary Kosnitzky is an excellent gimmick. The effect is SO clean.
http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=666 It is an unlit cigarette and completely self-contained. You could borrow a cig and still do the trick (with some small handling). To vanish a lit cigarette, just get a standard vanisher. http://www.magic.org/store/product_info.......s_id=374 Hope this helps
Warmest regards

Now could this be done with a crayon from a childs menu at a restaurant! I do crayon manip all night and it would be great if the gimmick applied to this as well.

But you could also do it the non gimmicked way because of the paper covering on a crayon not making it any more visual.

Hey Elushinz,
Sorry about that. I mean the thing that makes the cigarette up nose so visual is because of the brown paper at its base. Crayons don't have that little bit of different coloring so doing it in a gimmicked fashion wont make it look any more visual than doing it with the standard ungimmicked cig up nose. However, this trick is VERY visual at what it does. Kudos to you Gary!

Personally I do not think it would be a very good idea to show small chidren that you can push a crayon up your nose.We don't want them going home and start shoving crayons up their noses.

Good point Gary! I should stop showing them the one where I take the red one and start to "color in" my eyeball.
I am kidding... of course...
